December 5-19, Site S7
Sites are a little tight here but that's okay. We don't hang out at the camper much anyway. Or if we do we sit on the camper deck. The beach is right across the parking lot, on the other side of the sand dunes. We can see pieces of the Gulf from the camper deck. The dunes block most of it, but it's just a short walk to get to the beach. Sewer hookup ran uphill and we needed extra sewer hose to reach it. Water pressure was average. Electricity is paid separate from the site charge.
Mosquitoes were out even though they sprayed for them. There was some grass at the sites in our row, but the row across from us was basically camping in a parking lot. No grass at all. There were nice walking trails and restaurants within walking distance. Over the air TV stations were adequate.
The beach was never busy at all. The waves were pretty big so we had good entertainment from wind surfers and kite flyers and, of course, I'm always entertained watching the pelicans do their nose dive into the water. The Cameron County Amphitheater is along side the park with entertainment on the weekends. We'll be back next year!
